How to delete your Tenavia account

This page explains how to delete your Tenavia account and everything in
it. It covers the Tenavia app for Android and iPhone and the website at
tenavia.co.uk: they are one account, so deleting it in either place deletes
it in both.

Tenavia is operated by Tenant Rank Ltd (company number 17360046), registered
in England.

Delete it yourself, in the app

1. Open Tenavia and sign in.
2. Tap Account at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap Delete my account.
4. Read the list of what will be deleted, then tap Delete my account.
5. Tap Yes, delete everything to confirm.

Delete it yourself, on the website

1. Go to tenavia.co.uk and log in.
2. Open Account.
3. Click Delete my account at the foot of the page.
4. Read the list of what will be deleted, then click Delete my account.
5. Click Yes, delete everything to confirm.

Deletion happens straight away. It cannot be undone, and there is no waiting
period in which you can change your mind.

Rather we did it for you?

Email contact@tenavia.co.uk from the address your account uses and ask us
to delete it. We will confirm when it is done.

What is deleted

Everything below is removed from our database and our file storage
immediately. This is not a flag on a record that we keep: the records
themselves are removed.

  • Your login, including your name, email address and phone number. You will not be able to sign in again.
  • Your properties, and for each one its tenancy records, rent history, safety certificates, condition photographs, repair history and tax records.
  • Your applicants' forms and documents — their bank statements, payslips, identity documents and the scores calculated from them.
  • Your uploaded files, including every certificate, receipt, photograph and tenancy document.
  • Your notification settings and this phone's registration, so the app stops sending you messages.
  • Your Google connection, if you linked one, including the stored authorisation.

If you pay by card, your subscription is cancelled at the same time. No
refund is made for the remainder of the month.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Records we must keep by law. Financial records, such as invoices and payment records, are kept for as long as the law requires: typically six years for accounting and tax purposes. These are held by our payment provider and in our accounts, not in your Tenavia account.
  • Portal enquiry records. Messages forwarded to us from a property website are not part of your account and follow their own schedule: they are deleted no later than 12 months after we receive them.

Nothing else is kept.

If you bought a plan in the iPhone app

Apple runs that billing, and only you can stop it. Deleting your Tenavia
account does not cancel it. Open your iPhone's Settings, tap your
name, tap Subscriptions, and cancel Tenavia there — otherwise Apple will
keep charging you.

If your account is part of an agency

If you are a member of someone else's agency, deleting your account removes
your login and your place on that team. The agency and its properties belong
to the agency owner and stay.

If you own an agency that still has other members or unaccepted invitations,
remove them first. This is to stop an agency being deleted from under the
people using it.
